SCHOOL AWARDS 2009

This happy ceremony to celebrate all the successes of our learning community  was held at School Chapel. We were proud of all our national scholarship winners and we rejoiced with Chantal Cave and her parents on her winning the President's Medal. Chantal is now studying medicine at Oxford University in England.

Annual Divali Celebrations 2009

Our Annual Divali Celebrations for 2009 were hosted by our students and teachers and featured prayers, songs dances and a fashion show, highlighting East Indian culture and the Hindu festival of lights!

SPORTS DAY 2009

Our annual Sports Day was held at the St. Mary's College grounds on Friday October 23rd. Students, staff,  parents and other family members all turned out early, and so did the sun!

The Sports Day began with musical support from the Fire Services Band.

It was a very bright and happy day as each house paraded in creative costumes in their own house colours, each portraying a different theme as well as performing skits!

CHOIR COMPETITION

National Church Choir Music Festival, 2009

On Saturday 31st October the St. Joseph's Convent Choir took the stage at the Grand Finals of the National Church Choir Music Festival. Competing against choirs of churches from all over the country, we were the only children's choir to participate.

Singing "I will Follow Him" they placed second and won a cash prize which will go towards their fund raising efforts to attend the 11th Concorso Internacionale Festival and Competition in Riva del Garda, Italy in March/April 2010.

CAREER FAIR 2009

The Career Fair was held on Tuesday 8th, December at the school compound. Students were offered career advice from numerous public and private companies from all over Trinidad and Tobago. Many students attended and the following images show just some of the booths that presented themselves at the school.

Our annual Christmas Concert

This was held on Thursday 17th December 2009, the day before school ended for the Christmas vacation. The students and teachers both put on a grand display of talent. Check us out!
